Small Business Saturday is one of the best celebrations of our local traders, suppliers, and foodies and — as a supporter and venue for over 100 small businesses — we’re delighted to coincide the launch of our Christmas Market with it. It’s going to be an amazing day and we’re looking forward to seeing all of your festive faces. Below, one of our traders, Emma from Go Sketch, elaborates on one aspect that will be making it special.
Saturday 3rd December is Small Business Saturday! What is Small Business Saturday, I hear you cry? Well on this day, across the whole of the UK, family businesses, local shops, online businesses, wholesalers, small manufacturers and many more will be offering events to encourage consumers to ‘shop local’ and to support small businesses in their area.
Go Sketch will be joining thousands of small businesses on the 3rd December this year by running a drop in ‘Make your own Christmas card or winter art’ day session at Harbourside Christmas Market, in a completely free event for all the family. There is no need to book; you can just drop in, make some art and then take it home!
Go Sketch is a local Bristol business offering drawing, painting and sculpture workshops after school and in the holidays for children aged 5 to 14. We also run exciting birthday parties with a difference and will be offering a 10% discount on all GO SKETCH party bookings made during the week as well as running a competition with exciting prizes on the day.
We love running these free events as it encourages children and adults to get creative! We often run events in Cabot Circus, various arts trails or Bristol Zoo and are super excited about being part of the Harbourside Christmas Market this year.
If your child loves art come and say hi to Go Sketch on the 3rd December. You will find them under the covered walkway on the Harbourside (from the Watershed onwards).
