This May, it was seven years since the launch of the Harbourside Market, and the first sparks of summer arrived in Bristol. We wanted to do something special to celebrate: so we threw a party.
The Harbourside Summer Launch Party on May 20th was a massive success, and we want to thank everyone who came down and joined in! The weather was typically Bristolian, shifting from beaming sun to heavy rain, but despite that we had crowds of people down at the Harbour saying #HelloSummer with us.
It was a brilliant collection of Bristol’s best and brightest. Shambarber gave their trademark stylish haircuts in the open air with a mojito on hand, and speaking of alfresco, Alfresco Disco DJs kept everyone moving even in the spots of rain. Burnt Soul brought their lycra talents to a whole host of new fans, and Fun Bags got everyone ready for the festival season with some of the coolest bum bags we’ve seen, while Glitter Shack made sure no one left without a heavy dose of shimmer. Our own Market Bar expanded into a very popular (and delicious) mojito bar. And, of course, our street food heroes brought their usual amazing foodie spin to the day, keeping everyone very happy (and full).
We were also delighted to receive positive and lovely coverage of the event in local media during the run up to the day, including write ups in The Bristol Post, Bristol 24/7, and Bristol Bites, along with some of Bristol’s favourite blogs, Wuthering Bites and A Life Less Organised.
The Summer Launch Party wasn’t the only trick up our sleeves; keep a look out over the next few months for more special, one off events down at the Harbour. And of course, week in week out, we’ll be serving up our usual mix of Bristol creatives and street food geniuses at our Weekend Markets and #StreetFoodThursday. See you soon.
